yes, my dad just lost his pride and joy little yorkie not even 2months ago to cyotes...all he found was a puddle of blood and patches of hair left around the yard....i have never seen him or any grown man for that matter cry and be so upset as he was...it was awful, so there is no reason to even put your pets in that kind of danger...you wouldnt want to lose one.
not even a week later he bought 2more...he just couldnt bare the loss....
please take care of your pets and keep them safe with cyotes present...

Yes, small animals like cats, small dogs, puppies, rabbits. A frIend of mine had some puppies that were taken by coyotes and these pups were not that small. A medium sized breed that were about 6 weeks old. Another time, I was babysitting in a very nice subdivision a few years ago. The house was actually inside the city limits. There was a big field out behind the house and one day while the kids and I were outside, this coyote came walking by within maybe 100' of us. A coyote could kill a small 2 yr old and I was babysitting 2 yr old twins. I warned the parents about this, but they thought I was nuts and it was just a dog. Believe me, I have lived most of my life in the country and know what a coyote looks like.
Where we live now, our house practically sits inside a forest. There are coyotes, bobcats, shoot, even a cougar was spotted a few years ago. Our chis have a doggy door and go out at night to potty. Thankfully our Blue Heeler mix Gracie keeps the coyotes and other varmints away.
Oh yes, the coyotes love goat meat probably more than anything else!

its really dangerous to leave a pet outside when coyotes are about because coyotes will eat anything probably even a pet

Yes, very much so if they are smaller. Coyotes will stay away if you are outside but sometimes they are very brave and dangerous, once my nana was not 5 foot from her house and her chihuahua, bobby, was about a foot away walking beside her and a coyote ran up and grabbed her right from my nana, and my nana ran after him trying to get her back but he just ran off with her crying chihuahua in his mouth. If you have horses, the horses will chase them away, or a donkey, my equines are very good about that. this day and age coyotes are getting bigger and braver, thus being more dangerous. they used to be real shy and tried to avoid people. A dog that is to your knee or higher should be okay outside. coyotes don't pick on dogs their own size. they are still little chicken s&*%'s. they've killed several of my cats

Coyotes and wolves will kill any and any k9 in their territory, I live in Upper Michigan where we have both, we were told by the DNR to keep a bell or something that jungles on the dogs or cats collar, this tells the coyote or wolf that it is not a threat to them and they tend to leave the pet alone, so far so good for us no attacks

I came from an area that had a problem and people's pets came up missing frequently... Sometimes only parts of them were found...
In the news they would warn people not to leave their pets OR children outside unattended!
Heed the warnings and save heart break...

Protect your pets. The coyotes may see them as easy prey.

Yes, I think it's very dangerous! I wouldn't take a chance, because they could and probably will be attacked.

What do you have outside? Rabbits?
Bring them in! Or they will be coyote's dinner.
