Not sure you mean by what "type" of class.

Anthropology is generally regarded as a Social Science, so I assum Cultural Anthropology would be the same.

I did a paper in Cultural Anthropology studying the artificial family constructs within a group of Dead Heads following the Grateful Dead on the road from 1980 to 1982. I had the best time of my life because of that class.

The least connected to reality of the anthropological disciplines. The section of anthropology that is least rigorous and most ideologically driven, A complete waste of time. Of course, I think most of social science is a waste of time.

Its not humane, its a neverending class. Cultures are dynamic things, and to try and study them will be to ensure that you will have your work cut out for you until the culture you're studying is completely wiped out.
