I have an old blanket with a satin-like binding, which is slightly rough. I haven't been able to find anything similar (just ordinary satin). Any ideas?

You can make your own binding. Find the fabric you like, cut on the bias if you need stretch cut on straight if you need stability. Fold in half iron, Fold the two ends in (makes a 'c' shape) and iron. The you are ready to apply.
