I was reading my favorite magazine 'Adbusters' the other day and it drew comparison's of 20th Century America and 21st Century China. If you've glanced at the news in the past 5 years you'll notice the growing debate of a dwindling middle class in America. China has a Middle Class that is growing in record levels. How nice it would be today to grow up in China's educational and social environment right now...
Looks like the "American Dream" will have to be re-named accordingly.

If you have no problems keeping you mouth shut about politics living in China isn't that bad and as you said is a lot like early Industrial revolution America. It's actually almost easier to start a company and do business in China than it is in the US. Although the US still has many more civil freedoms, business wise China has more freedoms than the US. They are more Capitalistic than the US which is absolutely mind boggling and may blow away the US in the very near future.

Hardly... a little free enterprise doesn't make the American Dream. And I dispute you contention about the dwindling middle class.

i don't think so.
Since China has a very long history, there are many traditional things which decreases its growth.
Also, the Middle Class still takes a relatively low percentage in China.
