Anything over 250 dollars I think you can claim as a charitable contribution, so yes. Although thats only if your itemizing deductions and you would only itemize if your deductions are more than your standard deduction amount for whatever status u claim (single, married, etc.)

Political contributions, unlike charitable contributions, are NOT decductible from federal income. Some states allow you to claim a credit on state returns.

Political causes are not considered charitable contributions... you can call the IRS with your specific question. The IRS website should also be able to shed light on your question.

Contributions to political organizations or candidates, no matter what the amount is, are not deductible.
