Does anyone know the race of the original comic book Ironman?

wasn't he a white cripple?
i'm pretty sure that war machine was black though (they look similar)

Billionaire Anthony "Tony" Edward Stark is Caucasian (White American). He is the original Iron Man. But for a time in the mid-80s, his friend James "Jim" Rhodes, an African-American, wore the Iron Man armor while Mr Stark recuperates from his addiction to alcohol.
After a heart transplant that saved his life, Tony still had health issues. His armor's cybernetic interface was causing his nervous system to deteriorate. It became so bad that he had to fake his death and enter suspended animation to survive. At this point Rhodes became Iron Man once more but this time donned a new armor created by Tony called the “Variable Threat Response Battle Suit” which was later known as the War Machine armor. When he awoke Rhodes was so enraged he left Tony and made War Machine into a solo hero.

When I was reading comics in the sixties, he was a white cripple. Things may have changed though.

iron man was always white since the creation of the book. his buddy jimmy rhode took over for during secret wars I cause tony was unable to be iron at that time.
