It is a known fact that the hormone in semen can actually egg on contractions of the uterus, but only when your body is ready to come into labor! You can still have sex, but maybe just wear protection if you are really worried about an early labor.

you're able to no longer examine your self for dilation because of the fact that consists of putting your hands into your cervix. you could accidently rupture your waters or introduce micro organism. A penis is extremely too great to in high quality condition into your cervix. Braxton Hicks contractions are common, and don't imply something is erroneous. (undecided why the well being care expert checked you at 31 weeks. have been you having discomfort or bleeding?)

sex can cause labor to start, but as long as your water doesn't break, having sex is OK for the safety of the baby. and technically at 36 weeks, the baby is probably OK to be born.

As long as your Dr says it's ok you can have sex up until your water breaks. But semen contains prostaglandins that help to soften & dialate the cervix. It never worked for me though.

It should be okay. I was always told right up til your water breaks is okay but not after that b/c you could introduce infection to the baby then.
Psychologically though, sex may be difficult. He might not be able to knowing the baby is "RIGHT THERE"
Congrats!!!

go for it unless your docs has said not to have sex for a particular reason,if its not uncomfy for you etc..ive known people who have had sex up to their due date and at 36 weeks you are just about considered full term so a baby being deleivered at the point would not be a bad thing

No it is not. The cervix is dilated so that anything that gets into the borth canal can also invade the uterus. and cause infection. Check it out with your doctor, but in my practice we discourage all intercourse
