When you say shopping spree how much of 1 ?? 10000-or 5000?
If it is 10000 or 50000 I would think the creditors would file against that person's estate or may not want to go through the hassle and do a charge off.

If the debt is secured the banks get relief for charging the debt off. If it is unsecured the creditor will probably try to go after anything of value the deceased left remaining depending on how much you owed.

Nothing in life is free.. no matter how much the debt was.. what kind of way to die is buying your hearts desires and then killing yourself... you might as well win the lotto, marry the love of your life.. and then kill yourself because its just as dumb. It is also a very selfish way to go because you tomb stone would probably read "Here lies a person that had it all.. then ended it all. What a Dumbass!!"

Well, since the bank expects everyone who has overdraft to default it somehow (the fees is where the money is), I'd say no one really pays for it. The bank would have to write your spree off as bad debt.

The person's estate/family will be responsible for correcting the overdraft.

Their family.....so not only do they have to pay all the debts, they have to pay for a funeral and wonder why their loved one do that.

Suicide tears people up - so if you're thinking about that - don't do it. It's a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

It comes out of the money that the dead guy already has, or if that is not enough, the money that he leaves to his relatives.
