Frustrated writer Jack Torrance takes a job as the winter caretaker at the ominous, mountain-locked Overlook Hotel so that he can write in peace. Its a great movie...definitely recommend checking it out.

Its called The Shining because it was filmed in good light, unlike many horror and suspense films. I didn't tell you anything to do with the story, cos of the previous answers.

You should watch it. It's a great suspense flick, and nobody wants to ruin if for you. It's excellent.
