Derek Jeter
as soon as he became a starter in 1996 the yankees started winning
he always seems in the middle of the action
the home run that jeffrey maier caught in the 1996 ALCS
home run off al leiter in 2000 world series
shuffle pass to posada to get jeremy giambi at the plate
dive into the stands
it just keeps on going
how can you top that?

It has to be David Eckstein, he has really grown on me the past 2 years that he has been with St. Louis. When he came to St. Louis, he had big shoes to fill at the shortstop position, but he has gone out there every day and proved that he deserves to be there. He is a 2 time all-star, and 2006 world series MVP. I admire his dedication and enthusiasm to the sport. I go to a lot of games, and at the change of innings, he is always sprinting out to his position with a huge smile on his face. He knows how lucky he is to play in the majors and clearly enjoys every minute of it. He is also very active in the St Louis community, constantly encouraging people to be organ donors (which everyone should be!). Overall, he is a well rounded individual that is great both on and off the field.

My current favorite player is Alfonso Soriano because he is a straight up freak a leak baller and one of the best talents in the game. This past season was the first to hit atleast 40 homeruns and doubles and steal atleast 40 bases in a single season. My ALL-TIME favorite player is Greg Maddux (for the Braves only)!!!

Ichiro Suzuki. He's the most exciting player in baseball. Has been since 2001. His 2004 season was one of the greatest hitting displays in baseball history. Excellent on defense, steals bases and has the tough attitude to succeed anywhere.

Chien-Ming Wang. I'm an Asian and to see an Asian pitcher win 19 games in only his second season is great for me. Wang is proving that Asians can pitch very well. Everyone's talking about Daisuke Matsuzaka as the next best Asian pitcher. I hope that he does very well in Boston. I feel the same towards Kei Igawa, who'll go to the Yankees. My favorite hitter is Ichiro. His contuining dominance is stunning.

K-Rod. He's only 24 and has over 100 saves already. He's led the AL in saves, over Rivera, for the past two seasons. He's also an intense competitor. As I'm writing this answer, he's pitching in the venezuelan winter league.

Definitely Jonathan Papelbon. I mean come on! The guy shaved his head like the Wild Thing in Major League. And he had a sub 1 ERA! Have you ever seen a closer stare people down like that. He brings the heat @97 mph. I mean, the guy is so intense it makes him fun to watch.

Albert Pujols. He is a fantastic ball player who never gives less than 150%, he plays almost every day, and he is a good guy. He started a charity for people with Down Syndrome, and did I mention he can play?

Derek Jeter, he's the man and will do anything to win a game. Everyone remembers the flip play in the 01 ALDS against Oakland and him going into the stands for a catch twice, the 01 WS and in 2004 against the red sox in a REGULAR season game.
