OK, so it didn't live up to the book. I didn't read the book so, to me, it was just another sword and dragon flick which, in my humble opinion, is a good thing. If a lot of us go buy tickets to sword and dragon movies, maybe they'll make more of them and better ones in the future!

But you all miss one important quality of the film, it has the power to make people like me say "Oh, so there's a book?" and then we can run out and buy the book. We'll thus be exposed to something better than the movie.

Generally, I try not to read the book before seeing the movie because no movie is ever going to be as good as the book.

But keep talking about how the movie was nothing compared to the book and make people like me say "What about the hair? And what twins are they talking about?" so we all run out and buy the book ASAP.

I know that after reading any wonderful novel, seeing the movie version of it is pretty horrible . . . there is always some main thing that is cut off to fulfill the viewers' pleasures as well as to maintain the movie within the time limit. That's why most people tell you to look at it from the viewer's point of view. However, after looking at it from both angles, I have to say that the movie really did suck. Being a mere 1 and a half hours, it was more like a collage of events where the director decided to cut, mix up, and paste. I know you can't follow the book exactly, but there is a line between being similar and then being off all together . . . I mean, what is up with Saphira suddenly becoming a grown dragon in like 2 seconds?? And the elves (like Arya), yep, no pointed ears!!!! No dwarfs, a sudden appearance of a shadow dragon, Arya awake during the whole ride, when she should be unconscious . . . i really don't know how my friends (who didn't read the book) followed the storyline . . . the only thing they commented about the movie was how the actors playing Murtaguh and Eragon were HOT!!! . . . sigh . . . I rather have had this movie come out in a couple more years when it is really good then have a bad version come out now . . .

I think the movie was good...but it didn't follow the book and had lots of differences from the book. It would be hard for Eldest the movie (I don't know if eldest has a movie...) because there are no mention of Ajihad's death, Murtagh(or that guy's name) and the twins being dragged away and Arya didn't reveal her royal identities until afterwards in Ellesmera before Queen Islandi.

I thought that the book was better than the movie. And you could probably write to Christopher Paolini (probably check on google/yahoo) but I'm not really sure about fox. My advice is probably to check out search sites and things like wikipedia. Anyway hope u succeed becoz the movie was really not what I expected. Read the book dont watch the movie!

all right.Sorry to tell you this, yet this is a dumb hypothesis. I advise, Selena being Angela and any incorrect way around. i do no longer think of Christopher Paolini meant it that way.And what interior the international does armor ought to do with something your asserting? possibly she did no longer desire the Twins to seek her ideas with the aid of fact she had issues that she needed to maintain inner maximum.A that doesn't contain that 'Angela is Eragon's mom.!') And to what you pronounced to no person seeing Selena's physique while she died, this is a lie. with the aid of fact the servant have been in all probability there to help her with the start of Eragon. Then Brom arrived and the servants pronounced that Selena grew to become into ineffective. So then he traveled to the Varden and blah blah blah. Plus that section which you have been speaking approximately with Eragon and Angela speaking, yeah that grew to become into approximately his fortune. and how are we meant to appreciate that Angela had a no longer common life? It in no way says that interior the e book. interior the commencing up with what Oromis pronounced, it grew to become into another spell caster that we in no way locate out the id of. And with the cat, there grew to become into yet another cat that grew to grow to be great attracted to Eragon, so it grew to become into in all probability the undeniable fact that he grew to become right into a human dragon rider. Angela is a fortune teller!!!!!!!!!!hi! She's meant to ask to furnish Eragon his fortune. can not human beings have some random interest now and then????? Hmmm......... this is all I ought to declare.

I think the special effects were kinda cool, but they screwed up Eldest big time and left so much out of the movie that was in the book. However, if I had heard nothing about the book and went to see the movie I would have liked it.
6/10 rating

ok lets get this straight now...
1) yeah they screwed Arya & Eragon's hair to go w/ Hollywood trend... typical
2) NO ONE KILLED THE ra'zac in the book or the movie. sure Brom stabbed them and yeah that happened in the book
3) He never got healed because in the movie he never had the wounds... they left that out too. and gertrude needed to be there cause to the letter to Ronan....
4) The thing Durza was riding.... dramitic lisence my friend...
5) The Twins were supposed to be in it.... because on the Eragon movie site they are listed on the character list... time cuts maybe?
6) Meeting w/ Hrothgar.... not really esential i guess but not sure....
7) The Dragon hold thing... again dramatic lisence.... they omited that part to make it more interesting...
8) He goes to ellesmera in the 2nd book duh! LOL
9) The cripple who is whole.... I have no idea how they work that in.... wierd they left it out...
10) Yeah they messed this movie up but Chris himself said he was pleased w/ it and no movie could hold up to the book anyway so there's no way u can make changes just by asking for it.... sorry it made me mad too.

I personaly think that Eragon is the worst version of a book since Harry Potter Four...It missed some of the most important bits and it added in some stuff that wasn't even in the book...I hate it when movies do that...Eragon is my favourite book and I was very disapointed with the movie! They twisted everything...grrrrr...They pronounced some stuff wrong aswell...
