It was miss Jean Brodie in 'The Prime of miss Jean Brodie'.
Book by Muriel Spark, TV drama (starring Geraldine McEwan), and film (starring Maggie Smith) about an unorthodox and slightly fascist Edinburgh school teacher. But of course Creme de la creme has been around in common French usage forever. probably
