Well its really simple. Parents want to put toys in a toy box probaly because they want to keep things neat and orginized, and doesn't want kids to leave them out everwhere.

so that adults don't step on them which hurt their foot
which would make it so that they cannot drive
and if adults don't drive then they can't get to work to make money
so the can buy more toys for their children
which really the main reason we adults go to work in the first place
To buy toys (that we never had as a child) for our kids

because he/she is not using them right now, and the toys are just making the room look messy. it just makes it more orderly is all. plus, i dont know if you have stepped on a Lego, but it hurts!!!
