It is a fun game, but only if you have the time for it. There is so much to do in the game, and they are coming out with an expansion in 2 weeks.
There is a 10 day free trial on the www.worldofwarcraft.com. It does however ask you for credit card information to use it, but you can cancel the account before they start billing you for it.
WoW is my boyfriend and I's thing. When we can't see each other, we pop on the game together and get on Ventrilo (free speech program online needed for raids, usually guild leaders pay for the vent server) to talk. It's great!

Unfortunately, no. It's a very casual RPG and has it's pros and cons. Everquest is simular to it, but WoW is easier to level up on, plus there are less zones to worry about. Interrupt time is low in comparison. Now in style of game play, I say casual since it isn't as intense as Guild Wars is for instance.
Now the first two - Everquest and WoW do have monthly fees to play $14.99 - these games are p2p (pay to play) games.
Now Guild Wars is a p&p (purchase and play) you buy the game and then you play with no monthly fees. True you have to purchase the expansions - but they do give you 2 more character slots per expansion (and you can buy more slots in the online store for around $10)
Now if you want to play something for free, as in no buying and no monthly fee...you could try out Silk Road Online and MapleStory are two. Download for free and play for free!
So there are some things to think over...you can also search for free online games to see what you can find.

Yes, it is really fun, but no it isn't free. You have to create your account on worldofwarcraft.com and buy the game(at game store), dounload, then play. You have to pay $15.00 a month. I know what you are thinking, "thats alot of money for me to pay every month for a game", i pay, and it is really fun. Its around $20-$30 for the game.

There is all kinds of games like that. Some of the games are and some of the games do not take cash. If you are planning on buying one of the games then before you buy it look on the box ( all over ) and see if it says any thing about any money.

go online war of warcraft.com you will get a ten day free trial, and they will give you the full downloaded version of the game so you won't have to pay 20.00 dollars like i did for the game, and after the trial if you wish to play more you will have to pay for a subscription like 15.00 dollars a month or a year you will get a better discount, and you will need 3.5 gb available room to play on your computer.
