Remember that they are all too worried about thier own turn to speak, to pay much attention to your performance.

first, you will probably be afraid, but you can overcome it. Here's how.

1. prepare: if it is a presentation make notes and practice in front of a mirror, or good friends or family.

2. Speak slowly and clearly, give yourself time to think in between speeches. Take slow deep breaths.

3. use eye contact with the folks you are talking to, meet the eyes of several people in your audience, you'll see - they are really on your side, hoping you do well.

4. If all else fails, try picturing everyone in their underwear, they aren't so scary that way.

5. Don't worry! You will do fine. All the scariness and embarrassment is inside your head, where you can deal with it.

6. Smile. It's contagious

Well first of all I would suggest that you try to go first or close to first. It won't give you as much time to think about all that could go wrong or the outcome. Second of all if you can do whatever it is that calms or relax's you right before you go in front, do it. Last take a few long breaths and try to imagine the audience as one big colorful blur if you have to squint your eyes then do it, and it won't look like you are talking to as many people. Also keep your eyes moving it will keep you relaxed.

Just a psychological barrier. Suppose you are in a crowded railway station, at one end, and the train is reaching the platform from your end, the whole crowd 'seems' to be looking at you.... enough reason to feel 'embarrassed' , but we know they are looking at the train coming not you... but looking at all the people facing towards you , can be a bit embarrassing.... Now, if you were to call somebody across this crowd and talk, you may not mind a few faces turning their attention towards you.
Just look above the faces of the class mates looking at you and talk, and more importantly, focus your mind on what you talk and there will be no embarrassment.

Presentation coaches say to imagine that the audience is naked.

But if you want to learn how to be comfortable talking in front of an audience, record and study The View, Oprah Winfrey (Oprah), Rachel Ray (The Rachel Ray Show), Dr. Phil (The Dr. Phil Show), Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa (Regis and Kelly), and Bob Barker (The Price is Right).

These presenters are comfortable in their own skin, are not afraid of making verbal mistakes, can laugh at themselves, and connect with their audience through finding something in common with them.

Another thing...

All of these shows are scripted and rehearsed.

1. So master your subject matter. When you know what you are talking about, you are more confident in what you have to say, and you are more confident when you say it.

2. Condense the concepts into simple phrases in plain language that is easy for you to remember and explain, and is easy for your audience to understand.

3. Script your presentation around your concepts in a fluid, conversational, and logical flow where each statement supports the one preceding it.

4. Practice talking about your concepts in conversation without a script, to master communicating your ideas intuitively, fluently, and spontaneously. This will allow you to internalize your thoughts and train your brain to recall any ideas from memory, and answer questions on the spot.

5. Connect with friendly faces in the audience around the room, and use those individuals as anchors of support with whom to talk to directly. Look them in the eye when you talk to them. These are your friends, they want to hear what you have to say, so you want to make sure that their time isn't wasted. This allows you to be more conversational and personable.

Note: The audience doesn't know that you are focused on one individual because you are looking INTO the audience AT the person.

6. Practice. Practice. Practice.

Talking before class is easy. You know the idiots. They are just as dumb and just naive as you. If you met them all outside class and had a happy announcement, you'd have no trouble talking to them. It's the same when you speak in front of them. Challenge them to do any better.

How can I know my mind?
An alert mind is not a problem; an unaware mind is. The mind projects the future to be fulfilling but misses the beauty of the present. If you are rich, you want to be richer; if you are strong, you want to be stronger; if you are beautiful, you want to be more beautiful. Such a mind does not make you live life but leave life.

Such a mind creates false prayers. You make a ritual out of prayer and pretend to pray. Such prayer becomes an empty gesture.

Why am I so greedy?
There is a visible world and there is an invisible world. There is a visible self and an invisible self. The visible world is a world of diversity and the invisible world is a world of oneness.

If we live on the periphery we will feel incomplete but completeness is one’s nature. This incompleteness wants us to be a complete person. But the only track it knows is greed, wanting more. The enlightened masters give us not a dogma but a device to reach this state of completeness.

We should stop fooling around with life. Just thinking to be happy is not enough; just thinking to be wise is not enough. It is a luxury to think but it is wisdom to live. Ask yourself: Are you concerned with reality or fantasy?

There are two ways to know reality. If you want to know objective reality, then science is the way out. If you want to know subjective reality, turn to spirituality.

Why does one worry in life ?
Worry has become a habit for many. An inner energy that is not creative goes around in circles of worry. A creative person is one who, when he encounters a problem, is focused on the solution and is not a victim to the problem. Convert the problem into a springboard for possibilities.

A doctor does not cure illness but allows the healing process within to surface by giving it the right condition. So, too, the true healer exists within you. But you have to create the right condition. By looking at the mountain you can’t climb the mountain, you should will yourself to climb the mountain. Optimise this will for you to be above worry.

What should one do to be successful in life?
Ultimately what you need is self-confidence, mental toughness, commitment to excel and the ability to use the power of imagination.

What do you mean by self-confidence?
There are three pillars of self-confidence: Feeling good, taking responsibility and developing skills. There are both healthy ways and unhealthy ways of feeling good. You should develop the discipline to feel good in a healthy way. The quality of one’s life is the quality of one’s consistent feeling. There are techniques that are taught how to hold and maintain consistent feelings of empowerment within you.

How does one acquire clarity?
Clarity is acquired not by knowledge but by knowing. It is not a belief system; it is intelligence operating in the domain of freedom. The true meaning of renunciation is not renouncing the world but renouncing bondage. When bondage is renounced there is freedom, the most important thing. In freedom lies intelligence. It is not just discipline but true freedom. Freedom is not something devoid of order; it is a flowering of order.

don't feel like ur the only one out there, i am ALWAYS very afraid of public speaking. this is gonna sound kinda stuck-up but believe me it works. i always think that im 'better' than everyone else. if you think that everyone besides you and your friends are dick heads, it makes it much easier. just believe that you are succeeding in life and they are all far behind. oh, and don't try to picture everyone naked, it takes your mind of what ur tryin to say and you forget your speech!! you'll just stand there looking embarrassed.

practice first in the mirror, next in front of your family.then, in front of your friends, next practice in front of some kids in your class that your not really friends with, finally get up there in front of your class. first you should try it with a friend ( switch off speaking ). then go on your own.
