The German Army overextended itself trying to end the stalemate on the western front before American troops could arrive in sufficient numbers to be a threat, and before the American manufacturing base could gear up to full scale war production. The Germans didn't have the manpower or the resources to pull it off and when the allies counterattacked the German army simply fell apart. The government in Berlin collapsed and the country descended into anarchy and revolution. The few civilian officials left trying to hold things together ordered their negotiators to "get a settlement while there is still something to save!"

very little changed,britain had the germans on the run,it was only supplies from the usa (as in w/w 11)that made the difference,their armed forces had very little impact as they were not used in any real heavy combat zones because they were poorly trained,
