the American expeditionary force ( first army) was almost completely employed at the western front .
End 1917 first the units where employed in the sectors that where secure so that they could become more adept to the front later on they where used in the action in 1918 at the Somme , in the Flanders at Ypres and the Marne.
There was also a small part in Italy and what is not well known is that there was a force employed in Siberia in 1918 ( Russia ) .At that stage the war against Germany was all ready ended but the American troops where there to protect the commercial relations .

The central powers were Germany, Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria, and the Ottoman Empire.

The were fighting against the allies which were France, the Russian Empire, the British Empire, Italy and the United States.

Axis powers. Mainly Austria/Hungary, Germany, Russia.

Interestingly, many of the same countries we fought in WWII. Most notable were Austria, Hungary and Germany.
