My husband says everybody buys new ornaments (3-4 boxes) just to keep them even if they NEVER go on the tree. I don't believe it. Am I the only one who feels this way? We already have more than enough to give to our two kids plus for ourselves.

i will buy one new ornament every year. you can have too many. it looks tacky when you have so many ornaments that you can't even see the tree. and why would you want to store a bunch of ornaments that you are not even going to use.
that is such a waste of money, but that's just me.

As each of my children were born, I would buy or make one new ornament per child, per year, until they reached age 18. When each child moved into their own home, I gave them their ornaments so that they would always have warm Christmas memories even if they were far away from home at Christmas. Though they are gone, I still make one new ornament each year for my own tree. I also buy ornaments after Christmas if they catch my eye. This year I put up three trees in my house; one with a Santa theme; one with a woodland theme; and one with crocheted angels, balls, and other hand made ornaments.

I never buy any new ones, but I always get at least two or three as gifts each year. I don't have very many packaged ornaments.... most of mine are ones people have bought at craft shows or individually packaged, rarely boxes of ornaments. I don't think many people keep buying them even though they don't need them. Most people have enough holiday decorations without adding to them every year.

we use the same ones every year the only thing is that i might buy a couple of new figure ornaments after Christmas for the next year.

i only buy them when my dog's eat them LOL,but 4 real I'm not joking but besides who need's that many?give some 2 people @ work in cute bag's 4 x-mas next yr.if ur Hubie bought some more,or tie one 2 each gift 4 relatives(cleans the closets)

I don't. I think buying things you don't need is a waste of money.
If you really like a ornament buy it, but don't buy stuff just to store it.

I bought new ones last year and this year, I only had animals and homemade ones and wanted some glass round colored ones.
