I was wondering how you found your agent, or got published. I have a couple of stories that I would like to have somebody look at, but am unsure of how to do that. Any advice would be appriciated.

If you have just stories, you don't need an agent. Try submitting them to a magazine. Writer's Market lists hundreds of publishers and the kind of stories they publish.
It's very hard to get an agent. Most of them want you to already be published.
The above mentioned book is very useful for this type of information. Your public library probably has a copy.
