People are afraid of what they don't understand basically. Those Bible-thumpers think he represents the devil and that people who listen to his music are just a bunch of delinquents who murder animals and stuff. Which is very much not true. I must say that I greatly enjoy his music. He's very poetic. Most people don't realize that what he does is for SHOCK VALUE. And until people finally understand that, they will fear him.

That's right. I happened to be a fan of him when all the fuss was about (around 1996), and then it's true that lots of people not only dislike him, but some truly hated the guy. Nowadays, I'm not sure why people are still complaining. The level of scandal he makes now is nothing compared with what he used to do with Anticrist Superstar. I guess some habits die hard.

Marilyn Manson, Howard Stern,Madonna(in the 80's),Eminem, all of these hugely controversial celebs have one thing in common: intelligence, they want publicity and they know how to get it. they push the envelope to purposely make society uncomfortable and give people who feel set apart something to identify with. people fear anything that is different rather its a mental disorder or a vinyl wardrobe. Manson is about as different as they come so people fear him

people judge your exterior before deciding if they want to know the person inside.
Marilyn Manson knows exactly what he's doing and he makes fat bank getting some people to hate him and others to idolize him. Please dont cry any tears for him, he's doing just fine.

I just think it's pathetic that he needs to dress as he does to make people listen. A true artist wouldn't need that type of sthick.

my friends who are goth is obsessed with him. he scares me a little because of all the crazy things he does on stage. his appearance leaves alot to be desired too.
just my opinion. my goth friends and i have this conversation almost everyday. i have quite a few of them too, so they all gang up on me! lol.
