What sort of enclosure does he have? Is he basking often (are the temps right)? Do you need to replace your uv bulb? you can get by with changing your uv once a year, but replacing every six months is better (the actual uv output is significantly depleted after 6 months of use). His lighting might be affecting his appetite. What about his water temps? When my tank got too cold for my slider (before I realized I needed a heater--his first winter in tucson) he didn't eat well.

If the UV and basking spot are all good, and he hasn't recently outgrown his tank, and the water temp is good...maybe you could try feeding him something new? What do you feed now? If you feed only pellets, you could try giving him some dark greens or some frozen cubed slider food (my turtle loved it, and its healthier than pellets). If he's big enough, you could offer some feeder fish to get him interested.

Does he have a basking light? Is he near an open window or is it cold in your house?

Turtles in captivity (and in the wild) slow down in the cold- This is fine- he should be more active as it gets warmer.

You know I'm having the same problem right now and I have 8 sliders, lol I'm thinking My problem is; I just tried new food and I'm thinking their not liking it, I was also thinking maybe the weather is slowing them down a bit?? (i donno) So I'm going back to the regular pellets I buy and gonna watch them closely. also don't forget to change their water and add the water stabilizer stuff!!!!
not much help, I know but good luck!

Maybe he needs a change....try cleaning his tank and adding some new things to it....I had a turtle that did that too. He came around eventually!!

Whats changed? The usual cause for this is that it got cold in the tank.

maybe you should give him/her time to eat... you are probably just sitting there waiting for it to eat when you need to give it time
