It was a total shame and a betrayal. Kenedy should have invaded Cuba instead of talking so much garbage. Thanks to him, fidel has stayed in power for almost fifty years.
Lessons ?
No lessons. Cubans have always been less than dogs to the eyes of the USA and they still are

There is a theory that says that after the crisis, Kennedy made an agreement with the Soviet Union to not invade Cuba if they withdrew the missiles. If this is true, then the way he handled it was similar to Clinton's decision to send back the boy Elian Gonzalez to fidel's clutches. I wander what Fidel offered Clinton for the boy

Kennedy made an agreement with Nikita Kruschev to ask him to withdraw the missiles from Cuba. Fidel was veeery upset about this because he was ignored in the decision.
But the Cuban people was forgotten and the results are clearly visible. Nobody cared about the Cubans

Lessons to be learned. Get a good public relations firm. Go to bed with movie stars, no be at all aware of what is going on in america. GWB is twice the president JFK was. Kennedy began the moral bankruptcy of the U.S.
He accomplished absolutely nothing besides getting himself killed.

Kennedy was the youngest president the US has ever had. He had Generals all around the table, some twice his age, all wanting to unleash what would have caused a nuclear war. He was the only one who had the guts to play it out. For 13 days, he stared the leaders of the world down and won. He may have even saved the world in a matter of days. If he had the ideals of today's president, we wouldn't be here today.

Kennedy was the best president we've ever had and I wish to God we had him back for president now. Things would be soooo much better in the US. He had more guts and intelligence than Bush has in his little finger.
