which years of nose cones will fit this year of car? will all third generation cars work?

Well trick Question.... All will fit with change.... 70 to 81

Which one will bolt right on? 77 78

Which one will bolt on with very little change 74 75 76

With a core support mod 70 71 73 79 80 81 will with extra support.

This might need some clarification.

The 74-76 Front end is attached in a totally different way. I'd avoid it. For one thing, it's ugly. It can fit if you buy the entire structure that holds it on, plus weld valence brackets to the front fenders. Plus, you'd need a different hood. Don't go that route.

The 79-81 is much simpler. The nose bolts right on. The bumper brackets are the same, but the actual steel bumper reinforcement is different. So to use a 79-81 you'd have to have the nose with the bumper beam in it.

If you mean 2nd gen then the noses would be 77 to 81, but if you want to go with a 79 to 81 front end you will have to change the air spoilers on the front wheel wells as the front air dam changed from 78 to 79.

that nose cone was only for '77 - '78. And I think you meant second gen (1970-1981) Third gen was 1982-1992.

no the front ends changed in 1982
