Harry Potter 7?

When do you think Harry Potter 7 will come out im thinking 7-7-07 any other ideas?

I think 7-7-07 would be a fantastic date to launch the book.

However, as some people have mentioned, the fifth movie is expected to be released around that time.


So this leaves two scenarios:
- Either the book is pushed back towards the holiday season (i.e. November, December), where it will undoubtedly sell incredibly spurred by the frenzy of the holidays.

- Or the movie is pushed back so that the book can release on 7-7-07. The problem with this is, once the final book comes out, interest in the Harry Potter movies will die out.

I think the next Harry Potter book will comeout the date when the next Harry Potter movie comes out 7-7-07.

It's not going to be 777. Warner Bros. has ruined 07 for the relase date of hp 7 in the summer time with order of the phoenix coming out. alot of people think it will come out Halloween 07, but that's durning the middle of school. December 21 07 is also popular, because it's on the solstice (OOTP "At the solstice will come a new.....[other prophecy] and none wil come after). OOTP came out on the solstice, and the title of Deathly Hallows came out on the winter solstice. I personally think it will come out June 21st 2008 on the summer solstice. Until then we'll have to wait and see what JKR will give us. ugh i can't wait... Try listening to Mugglecast episode #s 69 & 70 (on the link below) where they talk about the title of book seven/the release date (the other one is more of a new year's additon but there is some talk on the release date.

All of these arguments sound fair and I will give you my reasons for all dates that it could come out. And I repeat, the book release date has not been confirmed. All dates are only rumours!!

The movie coming out on July 13...if the book were to come out then, movie sales would soar as "Harry Potter Fever" would be at a high point. Summer time is the slowest in America for movie sales, and the book release would supposedly raise the bar a bit. However, internationally, movie sales are higher in the summer, so it balances out in the long run. The book will be a best seller, no matter what day it comes out, they aren't worried about that.

JKR said in an interview that she was taking a break in mid 2005 to spend time with her new baby. This was going to slow the writing process down, as she said she would absolutely not deprive her child in order to write. With a new baby in the picture, and her saying she was going to spend a full year devoted to it, the release date looks a little bit farther away from the summer of '07. As soon as the rough draft is done is not the time it goes into print, I will remind every one of that.

And finally, a holiday release will push sales over the edge, with every grandma in town wanting their children to read, rather than giving away mindless and breakable toys. Plus, people would be out shopping anyway, no need to take an extra trip to the bookstore. And finally, kids have extra money over the holidays with early Christmas money and gift cards, so they will be able to go out and buy the books themselves, not having to rely on their parents/guardians.

Those are my conclusions...Christmas or summer?? I don't even want to think about it if they wait until 2008!

I think 7-7-07 is too early. This is the final book. As impatient as the fans may be, I really hope JK won't give in and rush her writing. Would you prefer to wait another year for a good book or get a crappy one in record time?

But the triple seven thing doesn't work either way because of the movie. If they're released too close together, sales will be screwed up for both.

It would be interesting if the book came out on Halloween, but it's during the school year (and on a Wednesday), so it's not likely. Summer is the best time for book releases, sales-wise. So if it doesn't come out this summer, I'd bet we don't see it until 2008.

It comes out in the fall, I think, because:
7-7-07 is too close to the 5th movie release (july13) and there would be to much media advertisements and attention at once. They will probably try to keep the release dates as far apart as possible.
