My cousin is having her baby shower at the end of the month. If it okay to give someone items you bought oon clearance? I was wondering because I bought the most adorable nike booties today and paid just a few dollars for them. Is this something that is frowned upon?

Not at all... Most people take the price tags off gifts anyways, so she wouldn't know how much you spent... and honestly, I think it's smarter to catch the deals!! lol. Why pay $10 for something, when something similar and just as good is $3... ya know? Oh... and I hate typos too... They get the best of me sometimes =(

Not at all--go crazy! If you want to buy more you can then. I would say it would be poor etiquette to give used items, but not clearance. Just as a side bar, there's nothing wrong with passingon used items, I just wouldn't do it as a shower gift. Clearance is our friend. Besides, you still probably paid a lot more tan they are worth and as fast as little ones grow the baby will only get to wear them a couple times. ;-)

As a mom of three, I have NO problem at all with clearance items. The mother to be usually won't be aware of the clearance price tag, but if she does find out, it shouldn't matter. She would probably say what a great deal you found and ask if there were more things so she could hit the deal too! haha! you are a great cousin to be so concerned! blessings to you!

No, I think it would be fine. As long as the items are not used. I would remove the price tag on any items I bought anyway. I say go for it. I would be happy to get a pair of nike booties for my baby, and she will probably never know how much you paid for them. She will probably think you paid full price, but either way it is a very nice gift. Price don't matter.

Not at all - i don't think you should give it a second thought. For starters - she won't know they were a clearance item and even if she did so what? Its smart shopping! Saving yourself a few bucks whilst still getting something cute for baby!
It's the thought that counts.. i've bought things for my baby that were on sale - makes no difference!

Its the thought that counts. Take the tags off of it and give it-- its not like there's something wrong with them. I got clearance stuff all the time from my mom for my baby and theres nothing wrong with it, the kid will grow so fast that he'll probally only wear it a few times anyway

No, who would know anyways! A gift is a gift and if they are adorable then give them, regardless of what they cost. Add them in with a nice reusable basket of things that will be useful like diapers, wipes, burping cloths, onsies and a nice blanket or something. I've done this for a few showers and it always goes over well.

I dont think there is anything wrong with it at all.
unless she is they type of person that would have to exchange everything for a different size, color, etc.
you may run into a problem there, if she is
Im not sure stores policy for returning or exchanging items on clearance.

i doubt it will be frowned upon. i wouldnt care if someone gave me something that was bought on clearance. BUT if ur cousin is a very high matenience (spelling) kind of girl, then she might not like it.

Take the tags off....and don't mention that you got them on clearance!! It's a great gift....what does it matter what you paid for them? Consider yourself a savy shopper and don't worry about it!!
