To permanently delete them you will not only need to delete them from the hard drive but also write over them (several times may be necessary). This is necessary because they still can be read if not written over.

Webroot makes a good program that does this:

Crap Cleaner is also a good program that is free:

It, too, has a feature that overwrites data so it cannot be read.

I am assuming you are talking about pictures from the internet.

There is a neat utility that Microsoft has embedded in Windows that is invisible. You have to download the file from them so you can access this utility. The utility is called Tweak UI.

Since I have no clue what version of Windows you are running, it is impossible for me to send you the link for your version.

So with that said do a search on the net for "(your version of) Windows + tweakui" and this will get you some links to this file.

Once you have this file installed there is an option for "clear history on exit of IE" or it is called "paranoia". This way you never have to "remember" to delete history, or if you think you are going to get caught, just close IE and everything is gone. No history of where you have been.

Hope this helps. I had a friend who was paranoid his wife was going to find out he was viewing porn and I found this utility for him.

With IE 7 you can select this from internet options to empty temporary internet files folder on exit of IE. Maybe this would be your best bet?

Download CoffeeCup Privacy Cleaner it is free and in a second or two it will clean all the tracks of your surfing. If you've saved pictures you will have to delete them one at a time and once in the trash bin the above program will eliminate it. If you set the privacy cleaner to overwrite the deleted files at least seven times the stuff becomes irretrievable.

Why do you want to do that?

Don't you know the expression "owes nothing, fears nothing"?
