before you answer please understand i am not going to boot leg, but trying to speed up the process of purifing store bought ethonol (which is deffinity unsuitable for drinking).

Is the sugar found in wine making/ fermentaion and common house hold sugar the same? they are both considered simple sugars but im still not sure.

also is there a difference in the yeast organism, or do all yeasts convert sugar into CO2 and ethonol?

Table sugar is sucrose and is used in most cases. Fructose is fruit sugar and is fermented as the grapes are fermented. Maltose is in the grains beer is fermented from.
Store bought ethanol is 5% methanol which is poisonous. Lab alcohol can be absolute but you make it in th lab or special order. Do not try to purify store bought ethanol.
There is baking yeast and brewing yeast, and yeast extracts sold as supplements.They all eat sugar and make alcohol.
