The best way is with a micro-fiber lens cleaner.

Use a slightly damp buffing cloth to clean it and then buff it dry. If there are a ton of fingerprints, then use an extremely tiny amount of soap on the damp buffing cloth.

use a damp cloth even if it is a lcd.The one thing you should not do is push hard on the screen. Just wipe gently.

Try a little saliva. You could also use a VERY little water on a towel and then wipe it off with a dry wipe. Good luck! I know how gross they can get...
