I am an American. A partriot through and through. But George Bush needs to be put on trial for war crimes against the Iraqi people. We went there under false pretenses and many innocent lives have been lost because of his actions. The United Nations need to bring George Bush to justice but, they don't have the marbles to do it. So my answer is - YES!

No. Genocide is trying to eliminate an entire population on the basis of nationality, race, religion, or some similar major category. In Iraq you have combat, terrorism, and common crime. Some of the terrorist attacks may have a genocidal flavor, but the scale is too small to qualify as genocide.
Saddam did engage in genocide against the Kurds of northern Iraq.

Genocide against whom?? What a dumb question.
Basically the problem is lack of "policing." It's like the Rodney King riots in Los Angeles 10 or so years ago. The police retreated, and crime went wild ... for a while.
Remove the iron fist of Saddam the dictator, and terrorists come in and murder at will. These are anti-freedom forces. They're the enemy. America needs to sack up and defeat them. Then Iraq will be free and secure.
By the way, like 85% of Iraq is free and secure right now. You just don't hear about such success from the blood-and-guts media.

No there is no Genocide happening in Iraq, we are not killing millions of people... The word genocide is used way too much some real genocides are The Holocaust, Cambodia, Bosnia, Rwanda, and most recently Daufur.... But some people even say some of these are not Genocides and some even say they never happened... so if you think comparing death barely in the thousands to millions, thats your call.

Genocide is a very strong term and argument. I would not go to interpret it that way -- true there are ruthless killings and approaching civil war -- while "genocide" is the effective elimination of "a people" who happen to have different views or origins etc. Let's be optimistic that the genocide term will not apply to Iraq.

This situation would come under "Crimes Against Humanity" but the International Court set up to deal with these crimes is not recognized by the USA. Thanks to Bush, who said no American charged should be tried by a foreign court. Ironically, the stipulations of the court includes the condition that if the "accused" would not be tried by their own country, then the International Court would get involve. Wonder why Bush objected? Food for thought...

Hundreds of thousands of Iraqis have died because of the Bush Administration's unwarranted attack on that nation. If murdering hundreds of thousands of people isn't genocide, what would one call it? Saddam Hussein's so-called crimes against humanity pale in comparison to those of George Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz and Condoleeza Rice. When are we going to hang them?
