I have a pond turtle and we have tons of crickets outside but I usualy buy live crickets. How can I trap them safely without sticky tapes that rips off their legs..the fun part for my turtle is to chase them around live. I want to create a cylinder trap or some sort that I can make several of for outside. Thanks

Im thinking of something more along the lines of a minnow or crawldad trap type design where the opening is easy to crawl into and it narrows as they enter and then it hard for them to get out. Im not sur what crickets like to eat but Id but some of whatever in the trap. One of the traps could possible be made using a cardboard box and folding in the 4 flaps to make it funnel tape them together, put in some bait and then tape the bottom of the box shut. Happy hunting

Yea put some food in a tall cup and place it next tor a step. Once it jumps in the cup ifrom that step the cup will be too high too jump back out. make sure to put rocks around the cup so it doesn't tip over while the cricket is moving inside.

They light to eat glue and paper, so take a box about 10 inches high and put toilet paper roll tubes and paper towell roll tubes in it, you will catch some of them.
