It really depend on the person. You could try walking, nipple stimulation (for 10-20 min every hour), or sex. Otherwise, it is a wait and see.

My midwife stripped my membranes at 4 pm and i was in the first stages of labor by 9pm that night, i went to the hospital at 5am and had my daughter at 248pm. I didnt do anything extra except go home and do some laundry, my water started leaking when i bent over to put clothes in the dryer! i know how uncomfortable the last part of pregnancy is. if you feel like it you can walk but your water is more likely to break now so keep that in mind. an epidural is a laboring womans best friend especially with back labor! Congrats on the baby and good luck

I had my membranes stripped around noon and my son was born at 7:31 that night!!! Before I had my membranes stripped I was having mild contractions but after that they got worse quickly. I labored quickly and was 9 cm dilated when I got to the hospital!!!

I can't believe your Dr striped your membranes before 40 weeks -
I have a bit more than a conservative view on these things...

But When I was 41 plus weeks my midwife had me use my breast pump for 15 minutes three times with 10 minutes in between. I started contracting during pumping and it continued saying 5 min apart until birth. Stay relaxed and don't rush it. My midwife had to break my water right before I pushed.

My water broke during labor. Be patient, you only have a few days left. Most doctors will induce if you are still pregnant at 42 weeks. As far as pain goes, half the pain is fear. When you are afraid your body tenses up and tries to keep the baby in, so you end up pushing through muscles that should be relaxed. Just think of it as menstrual cramps, that is all they are; just really bad menstrual cramps. A hot shower is awesome during labor, and remember to breathe.

With my son they broke my water and the pains came quick after that. I tried to just stay in bed and play cards but when the contractions came they came too quick and I even gave that up.
With my daughter they broke my water too but I hardly had any labor pains cause they took her via emergeny c-section.
