today i got a phone call from Con Edison, saying that they could save me a money on my electric bill. Now i went along with it, giving them the information(name, account number...etc) Finally the transaction was complete. Now im reading on sites about the IDT energy scams...i think i might have been scammed.

Could it have been the IDT calling me. And about teh account number, the "con edison" rep gave it to me first , and only made me repeat it. Its not like she didnt know it. Also, there was a con Edison recording voice that was confriming what i did.

Please help!!! i want to know if i had been scammed, or is this a legit money saving thing.

PS-they called around 6pm

Call Con Edison direct and ask them about your call. Someone might have got your account number from an old bill in the trash. If it is a scam...Con Edison can change some of your informtion before the scam can take place, but you should call TODAY to prevent any problems

If they already had the acct number, I would say that they were legit. Usually when your being scammed, the caller asks you for your bank information, which you should never give out unless your 100% positive that your talking to an actual company rep. Your electric company should have a website where you can log in and view your account information. It may be a good idea to check it out. Good luck

Even though they had your account number, it could be a scam... They can get your number off a bill or something like that... My grandma had that happen with her bank account, this guy called and said he had to verify something and read her account number to her and she said it was right, a week later her bank account was empty... Turns out, it was some guy that worked on her appliances that jotted down her number off the check she wrote him before he cashed it.... nice i know... I'd call your electric company and see what they think happened

For used, you buy those from Amazone Marketplace sellers -- mostly individual or small businesses selling their book or book inventory. Pretty much like eBay And like eBay, carefully read the feedback in terms of promptness of shipping the items and quality of the items sold. Note that third party sellers do not get your credit card information as Amazon simply informs them that their item was sold. And that they do not set the shipping price as it is Amazon who sets the shipping price -- so whether the book is heavy or light, they have to ship it based on the shipping allowance Amazon provides them
