and just go with the flow. I am pregnant with my fourth, 3rd live birth if all goes well, and while I am concerned about losing the pregnancy, i am not concerned about anything once the baby actually arrives. Reading some other questions from first time moms takes me back to when I was pregnant with my first and I worried about everything...which is normal of course.

Just wondering if those with more than one child find themselves being quite laid back about things this time around.

I read once that "with the first child, you pick seeds out of bananas; with the second you just hand them an apple."

Since bananas don't have seeds, of course, I thought this was a pretty good (and funny) way to explain the increased sense of confidence in yourself that you feel with each child - and it's that confidence that helps you be more laid back and less frantic about every little thing.

I understand how you feel... I had a miscarriage at 18 weeks, then at 4 weeks then had two beautiful children and am now 8 months pregnant everything before the birth freaks me out because it is unknown (not like once they are born its not, but there is communication once they are born that you don't have when they are in the womb) Maybe I/we would feel different had something happen to our children after delivery, but it hasn't so there is nothing there to feed the fear. I hope this answers your question. Congrats! and GOOD LUCK!

Have a GREAT day!

i am layed back as it is but actually the more i have the more anxious i get with thoughts of something happening. In pregnancy i dont worry about the baby. of course id be sad if i lost the child during pregnancy but i figure i dont know the baby yet. i KNOW the kids i had and the more i have the more i worry about life accidents at least with one. But thank God I serve a Lord who protects me and my family and if ever something happend, he will give me the strength to handle what ever comes my way.

Of course you're much wiser. I only have 2 kids, but I know freaking out and worrying won't prevent anything. So I stay level headed and everything is fine. Happy New Year.
