Alright, I'm pregnant. I really love the name Yuna Rose, or Yunalesca Rose. But I wouldn't want to give my kid a name she'd hate, just because "I" like it. She's the one who'd have to live with it. What do you guys think? Be honest!
Thanks so much!

Someone said I shouldn't use Rose. That's the only thing I won't budge on. It has to be in there somewhere it's very dear to me.

I think we come from a generation where every one was Kelly or Heather so if you had a unique name you kind of stood out. Nowadays, I think more and more parents are giving their children unique names so she probably won't feel like she has too strange of a name. That said, I think Yunalesca is a beautiful name and I think your daughter will love to hear that you picked her name because you thought it was beautiful and not " oh, I was going to name you something else but I decided to pick a common name instead" Good luck with your decision.

First, I have to applaude you in not wanting to give her an odd name just because YOU like it!
Yuna is definitely different, but much nicer than some of the odd ones I've heard lately. I think it is unique and a very nice name to pair with Rose. I have no idea if it has meaning but sounds pretty(Yun is a girl's name in Chinese meaning clouds). I don't really like Yunalesca though.

I adore the name Rose. I'm not in the least bit crazy about Yuna or Yunalesca. Speaking as a woman who has a bit of a different name, she will hate it later. Maybe not when she becomes an adult, but as a child it will be hard.

Yuna Rose is very pretty, but I would stay away from yunalesca unless you want people refering to her as a video game characer. Although it is a good video game, yunalesca is a bit too "tried," meaning it seems like its trying to be undeniably beautiful but not actually succeeding in it. Yuna Rose would suffice in being both pretty and melodic without sounding korny. By the way congradulations on the baby.

hmmm it's a little too much but it's unique so that's a plus. I prefer Yuna Rose rather than Yunalesca. How about Luna Rose?

I love Yuna Rose! Speaking as a Liz... good for you, giving your daughter a name that won't land her confused with the seven other Lizes or whatever in the school :)
Yunalesca sounds like a name for a vampire, IMO. But it could be cool. I don't know, though, it kind of sucks to have your official name be one you never actually use... it gets confusing, for filling out documents, receiving awards, applications, anything official like that.
Good luck!

Yuna Rose is pretty, but I think that a lot of people may not pronounce it correctly. When I said it out loud just now, my husband thought that I was saying "uniroyal" like the tire co. I really do think that it is pretty and don't want to upset you, but other kids can be so cruel sometimes, and what is cute for a baby isn't always cute for a school aged child with a lot of horribly mean classmates. Kids dont like to be different and names sometimes make them stand out. I hated growing up with the name "Cherry"

I personally wouldn't like the name Yuna. In spanish "una" means there is one of a feminine object....
How about Rose as a first name? I like Rose Elizabeth, Bailey Rose, or if you want it to still be unique like Yunalesca....how about
Rosalynn (rose-a-linn)
Rosealinda....etc?
But in my opinion it is a little too unique. I can imagine kids calling her Yunalesbian or something like that.... :( Choose whatever feels best though!

No, sorry I don't care for Yuna or Yunalesca at all though. I LOVE Rose as a middle name.
I like Savanna Rose myself.

Yuna is a pretty name. Yunalesca sounds like something we had to learn all about in high school, but never really remembered very well.
