I live in Washington state and will soon be 16. I know that I can't file for emancipation until I'm 16. I also know that I need a job and that I have to prove I can manage my own financial affairs. I don't get along with my parents at all and haven't for years now. I'm court ordered to go to counceling and my councelor says that I'm depressed because of my parents. I have a friend that will soon be 18 and out of her house, we are planning on getting an apartment and splitting the rent. I would be attending school still, and I'm working on bringing my grades up before second semester starts. What are my chances of the courts signing for me to become emancipated?

Your chances are fair. You wrote this with pretty good grammar and spelling, so you probably will make a good appearance too. Presumably your counselor will back you up. You will have to demonstrate that this is in your best interests, and that you will not be a burden on society (welfare, food stamps).

the technique of emancipation takes longer than six months. i comprehend he's in all probability desirous to get out of the homestead, yet whilst he can carry on yet another six months, he's homestead unfastened. in all probability not what you wanted to take heed to. yet you apart from mght could envision into your state regulations to make certain what he can and would't do. Like, in TX.... you may pass out of your mothers and dads homestead at 17 and there is not something they are able to do approximately it.

Chances are, they will want you to do counseling with your parents first. But, like someone else said here, it sounds like you would present yourself well. Best of luck to you. I know how it is wanting to get out ASAP.
