One of Depardieu's best acting efforts. Made on the back of Man in the Iron Mask, so he was really into the period. Complicated plot, 6 hours long, subtitled, if you do not see it, you've missed a great adventure.

I'm not familiar with that version of The Count of Monte Cristo. But I've seen a couple other versions and read the book. It's a great story.

Yes, but have you read the book first? If you have then, yes i would recommend the movie. I am half way through the book and it is great but I already know whats going to happen.
I can't remember the actors names but I'm sure we are talking about the same version.
