My dad has MSN's browser/email, and wants to know how to check if an email he sent has been read by the recipiant or not. I know on some email programs it is possible, but does MSN have this function? And if so, how do you use it?

Basically you can find it out by checking your 'sent items' box.

I know about the option, but do not think there is such with MSN email. There is such a function in MS Outlook. But even when you use it, you can not be sure whether it wasn't read.

1) Not all email servers do support this function. So even when your fathers emailclient and the Internet Service Provider does, the receiver's client or ISP could not support it. Then he will get NO response.
2) In Outlook, people get a message whether they want to let the other person know if they have read the message. They have the option to ignore it. And I would ignore it ;)
3) A lot of people have setted Outlook to automaticly ignore those requests.

So, even when this option is available, it is not trustworthy.

When your message is sent to a not existing email address, mostly you get the message returned with the error. This is in 95% the case. If you didn't get any error messages, you can be relatively sure that the message arrived its receiver.
