how can i stop people from using my pc can i pass word protect it so they cant do anything with it steve?

my pc is being accesed without permission i want to stop them from even gaining access ..how can i do this ..thanks steve

Click on Start -> control panel. double click on user accounts. choose your user account. click on set a password for this account. You will then be asked for a password every time you log in to your computer. when you are done with your computer make sure to click on start->log off.

I have it on my home computer and it has helped.

This will let you configure who all can access your system. This is the basic version that works fine if you are a small setup and not interested in much of monitoring.

if your the admin than you can set others on limited accounts (as described by the other 2 answers) they will than be unable to add or remove programs etc..
you can set up there own log in pages also and you will have a log in password
