My daughter works full time at a CA AFbase exchange. They were told they had to work as the comander in charge decided he wanted the stores open. She (and several others she works with) expect they will be told they will not get paid for the Day of Mourning. The funding for their payroll is Federal, not out of the revenue from the shops.

She'll either be paid for it or will get comp time; my bet is she'll get comp time so that they won't have to pay time & 1/2.

I guess she'll be paid for the day but not time and a half, federal employees get pay for the day whether or not they work..☺
