Most high school have plays which a student can try out for various parts. Some schools have drama clubs. Many towns and cities have community theaters. When they have plays, they advertise in the newspapers for the auditions. churches sometimes have plays. Many collages have drama departments with many theater classes to choose from. Just begin researching and checking out your local newspapers and schools. I know Streator and Pontiac, IL have local community plays. I know Northwestern has theater classes.

Southern Illinois University Carbondale (not far from you) is constantly holding auditions for one thing or another. You just missed The Vagina Monologues but I also have my senior thesis show coming up. Auditions for a couple other productions are happening the 16th? of Janurary.
