I wonder what "a cup of kindness" means in the lyrices of Auld Lang Syne.

I really think it's just a metaphor- like when you raise your champagne glass to toast your friends and loved ones at New Year's, you're really making a wish for kindness and prosperity for everyone.

irish whiskey is the kindest cup i can think of....

in all seriousness, since it is an irish song, i would bet that it would indeed be irish whiskey.
