Question 1 is a simple formula question:
You know that length times width equals area,
so... L x W = A
You were given L (8 inches) and A (98 inches).
Just substitute them:
8" x W = 96" and solve for W.
Once you know W, use the perimeter formula:
L + L + W + W = P
(or 2L + 2W = P) if you prefer.

1.LxW=Area, so Area/Length=Width

96/8=12

width is 12

perimeter is 8+8+12+12=40

2. Okay. First use the distributive property. You get 6e+6=4e+8
now subtract the 4e from both sides and you get 2e+6=8. Subtract the 6 from both sides and you get 2e=2. Divide both sides by 2, e=1.

3. Multiply both sides by 6 and you get 2(h+6)=5. Use the distributive property and you get 2h+12=5. subtract the 12 from both sides and you get 2h=-7. Divide both sides by 2 and you get h=-7/2

hope this helps!

1. 96/8=16 and two thirds=width
16 and two thirds*2+8*2=33 and one third+16=49 and one third=perimeter
2. 6(e+1)=4(e+2)
6e+6=4e+2
6e-4e+6=4e-4e+2
2e+6-6=2-6
2e=-4
2e/2=-4/2
e=-2
3. 1/3(h+6)=5/6h
1/3h+(1/3)6=5/6h
1/3h+2=5/6h
1/3h-1/3h+2=5/6h-1/3h
2=1/2h
2*2=(1/2h)*2
4=h
