If your snack has mites, I would suggest taking it to the vet and have them give him a shot. I lost one of my snakes like this and I tried getting those mites off of him for so long but they became uncontrollable after awhile and kept coming back no matter how much I got them off. Please take your snake to the vet!

This happened to my bf's corn snake...This is what we did:

1) THE SNAKE

Take the snake out and rub a really mild soap(betadine works well), or, in our case, we had some spectro gel at hand, and put the snake in a relatively shallow sink/tub. But the water has to be deep enough so that most of the snake's body is underwater. This will drown the mites that are on the body of the snake. That should get rid of the mites. You can put some vaseline on, instead of the soap...It's mainly just to make the snake more slippery. Just be sure to wash all of the soap/vaseline off the snake, and let it swim in the shallow water for a bit. Remember, most the body has to be underwater, or else the mites will just move to "higher ground".

2) THE TANK

You will have to gut the tank out completely, take out all of the substrate. Next, rinse off all of the dirt and everything, and get some really hot water. Soak EVERYTHING in a hot water and bleach mixture. This includes everything that was in the tank, the decorations, and the tank itself(inside is the most important, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to get the outside soaked as well, if possible). Soak for like half hour(once again, drown the mites!). Next, SCRUB the tank(can use dish soap), making sure you get ALL the cracks(as it would be pointless to clean if you leave some mite EGGS behind). RINSE WELL. So that there is no more soap, and there is no more bleach smell. Let the tank DRY (air, or towel). Check for ANY spots, eggs tend to be WHITE. If clean, fill with fresh substrate, and return the snake to his home.

Good luck!

you can also use virgin olive oil, rub it on the snake, and let it back in the tank.

You have to clean the cage, scrub it with a mild solution of bleach and water, rinse with hot water until you can no longer smell the bleach, use white paper towels or unprinted paper, no wooden hides, toss all wooden stuff, as it's no longer any good.

if all you have is wooden hides, take a largish butter bowl, cut a hole in either the top or cut a semi circle in the side so the snake can get in.

scrub the crap outta the water bowl, and don't forget to clean the top as well.

goodluck

There is a spray to get rid of mites. You should also soak them over night. How old are your 2 bps?

The easiest thing is to take it to your vet.
Otherwise you can buy a special liquid (probably at your pet supply store) and treat it yourself. It takes a lot of patience, and you'll need help to hold him. (Evidently someone that has no fear of snakes)... If the person is calm and shows confidence your pet will be at ease on his arm, stay quiet, and allow you to apply the liquid with a cotton ball. You may need more than one application. (I helped a friend apply this treatment on his python, it had gotten ticks).
