Nope. You always want to use the charger that came with your computer. Lost it? You should organize your stuff better. Locate the Restore Disk, Operating System Disk and other program disks that you paid good money to get. These are vital parts of your computer too.
Good luck and Happy Computing!

Your best bet is to wait for the new AC Adapter to arrive. Unless you want to use up all the battery power for the laptop until it no longer works. You can still use the laptop and it should tell you on your taskbar the remaining percentage of power of the battery. When the power is very low then your laptop should warn you that it is critical that you recharge or shutdown. In the meantime when your laptop is not working maybe you can find other things to do to kill the wait time.

You need some power supply.
There are good, and not too expensive, power adaptors available from sources other than your manufacturer.
Look for "universal" notebook power adaptors. The one you buy must match the voltage of your laptop. 19v is most common but look at the bottom and back of your laptop to find out what yours is. You should find them in stock at electronics stores.
Expect to pay $40 to $60.
It is really nice to have a second power supply. I keep one in my bag and the other at my table where I usually use the computer. That way if I forget to take the power supply I have one in my bag.

There are a lot of power connectors that look almost the same but aren't, and you'd have to know the voltage and current requirements. It's pretty risky and would probably not be too good an idea.
And you can't charge it through the Ethernet port.

make sure it isnt the battery first, if your charger light comes on then it probably not the charger, laptops batteries dont last forever mine failed after 2 yrs, so bought one form ebay, if you go to your power saving options, it should tell you there about your battery info.
