They are very intersting looking. They look like farmers. And dress strangely.

Yes. My grandparents were raised in the Old Order Amish church. They both left when they were around 19. Many of my cousins are still Amish, I am a Mennonite living in Indiana.
They look like farmers because many of them are farmers. Others work in construction or in factories and yet others work from home selling goods.. Rules on dress are different from community to community and decided on by the Bishop.

Yes I have. During the Vietnam War a couple from Indiana rented a room at my grandmothers home. Instead of the young man going to war (since this is against Amish belief) they both volunteered their time at a hospital. They were very interesting to talk to. I also have visited an Amish town.

Yeah, I've seen them. A few years ago, I saw some going down the highway, in a horse and buggy, in Kansas.

yes. my family actually buys alot of quilts and food from the amish like corn and other vegetables.my mom likes the awsome patterns they make on the quilts.

i grew up in a town that had an amish community and had freinds that were amish as well...there are numerous amish communities here in northern indiana
