France
Maria Antonia Josefa Johanna von Habsburg-Lothringen (November 2, 1755 – October 16, 1793), known to history as Marie Antoinette (pronounced /mariː ɑnt̪wanɛt̪/), was born an Archduchess of Austria, and later became Queen of France. She was the daughter of the Holy Roman Emperor Francis I and Maria Theresa of Austria. She was married to Louis XVI of France at age 15, and was the mother of "lost dauphin" Louis XVII. Marie Antoinette is perhaps best remembered for her legendary (and, some modern historians say, exaggerated) excesses, and for her death: she was executed by guillotine at the height of the French Revolution in 1793, for the crime of treason.

Marie Antoinette was a native of Austria and daughter of Maria Theresa, Empress of the Austrian Hapsburg Empire. She married Louis Auguste, Dauphin (heir to the throne) of France and grandson of King Louis XV. When Louis XV died Louis Auguste became King Louis XVI. Marie Antoinette became Queen of France. She had a total of four children one who died as a young child another who died of tuberculosis before the age of ten and two others... Madame Royale, her eldest and Louis Charles... hailed by some royalists during the French Revolution as Louis XII. She was executed shortly after her husband by violent revolutionaries. For more on Marie Antoinette I would suggest Antonia Fraser's biography Marie Antoinette: The Journey. It is accurate and interesting. This book has also been adapted into Sophia Coppola's major motion picture, Marie Antoinette
