Both the iPod and the Zune have proprietary formats, which means you cannot download music directly to your player from limewire or any other music sharing site. For the iPod you have to go through iTunes, and for the Zune you have to go through their Zune Marketplace. Just to clarify - you CANNOT add music to a Microsoft Zune from anything but Zune Marketplace, and that includes Microsoft's own Windows Media Player (how stupid is that?!).

I couldn't find anything about the Zune not allowing downloads of graphic songs and videos.

The real answer, however, is BUY THE IPOD.

The Zune is new. The Zune is from Microsoft. The Zune will have glitches. Expect it. Microsoft + new = double whammy.

Zune's selling points:
1. It has a built in FM radio receiver. Okay, I'll give it that one. Of course, I bought my iPod so I wouldn't have to listen to the radio, so it isn't a benefit to me.
2. It has WiFi. But you can't sync to your computer with WiFi, you can only "squirt" (that's Microsoft's term, by the way) content to other people - but only other Zune's, and only certain songs, and they can only play the songs 3 times in 3 days and then the song disappears, leaving behind a bookmark suggesting they buy the song. This is true even if you squirt (I just can't type that without laughing) something that is copyright free.
3. It has a bigger screen. Great, bigger screen. Buy you can't buy any VIDEOS on their Zune Marketplace. No TV shows, no music videos, no movies. What's the point of having a bigger screen if you aren't going to be looking at it?
4. Ummm.... it's BROWN?

Advantages to an iPod:
1. It's been around for years and the support is there. The bugs have been worked out. iPods work. Count on it.
2. There are literally thousands of accessories for the iPod precisely because they are so popular. iPod has a 70+% market share, which means that everyone wants to cash in on it by making accessories. I mean, come on - you can plug the thing into many cars. Zune isn't even close to having this kind of support.
3. iTunes is easy. It has almost twice as many songs as Zune Marketplace - over 3.5 million compared to over 2 million. And it's relatively cheap at 99 cents a song. Zune also sells songs at about that price, but you can't just buy one song - you have to buy a minimum $5 block of points, then you use the points to purchase the songs. They confuse things further by charging 79 points per song, but each point costs about 1.25 cents, so it works out to about 99 cents.
4. There are many options for iPods - shuffle, nano, video - in many sizes, from 1GB on up to 80GB. This means a price range from $79 on up to $349. The Zune offers only one - 30GB - at $249. And they had to drop their price to match the 30GB iPod.
5. Apple doesn't let the music industry tell them what to do. Yep, Zune has agreed to pay Universal a set amount for every Zune sold, because the powers that be at Universal think mp3 players are just "repositories for stolen music." Apple not only has refused to give kickbacks to the music industry, they've also refused the music industry's demand that they charge higher prices for more popular items. All songs are 99 cents, whether it's "Fergalicious" or "Hip to be Square."

So here's your chance. Do you buy a Zune because it's different, or buy an iPod because it works better?

Uhhh...I have seen the Zune and its nice. I have an ipod video and the graphics are beyond amazing! I really think you should go with the ipod because there is so much stuff you can do with it. I know the prices are way out of range on itunes so i get my songs from Limewire and my vids from itunes. I think the way to go is ipods. Hope this helped!

Go for The Zune! It's much easier. I have a Zune. There is NO ability to display lyrics yet, but you CAN see the "Album Art". The graphics are BEYOND amazing, and it is very easy to put videos on it.

The design is a cool design, in my opinion "Brown And Black" are the best colors for it. You can also exchange songs with people who have other "Zunes".

You can watch videos, and look at pictures. If you need help or have any other question you can email me at:
