you should not take any sleeping pills without any doctor´s medication. Any could be good for someone else but maybe not for you. Maybe you should try on drinking a chamomile tea before going to sleep. That helps.

I think not taking anything is your best bet - your body will eventually sleep. I know it is frustrating when you can't sleep and makes for a loooong nite - but you have to let your body work on it's own. Avoiding caffeine, exercise and too much thought prior to bedtime affects your sleep. Don't take naps in the day. Try and keep the same sleep time i.e. going to bed at the same time and getting up at the same time helps with the cycle also. Your best bet, if you must take something is Melatonin or valerian, as these don't have side effects.

Avoid any kind of caffiene, i.e. coffee, tea, chocolate and sodas at least 6 hours before bedtime. I've heard that Ambien was effective, but you must be able to devote a full 8 hours for sleeping. I used to take a trank for sleep. I went cold turkey and after 3 weeks without, I began to fall asleep naturally.

If you have insurance, the copay on Ambien is not very high. It is wonderful! Most over-the-counter sleep agents do not work on the body the same way prescription ones do. If you want to go completely natural, eat turkey.

Valerian is cheap. It's an herb that promotes restful sleep and relaxation. Get it at pharmacies or health food shops.

rozerem is good too- it's a melatonin agonist so it doesn't cause side effects, but in addition to helping ou fall asleep rozerem works better than melatonin to help you stay asleep.
or if you're desperate you can take benadryl, it always puts me right to sleep but make sure to take it erly enough because you might have trouble waking up less than 5-6 hours later.

Try Melatonin. No side effects and very effective. They really aren't sleeping pills but will help you sleep.

Valerian Root works great. You can buy it in any health food store, and is in pill form. It smells pretty bad, but it does not make your breath smell bad like garlic does.

Just go to Walmart and buy some Advil pm or Tylenol pm. Both are around $4.00 a box and they also have a no name that's cheaper.
