Writing briefly about it in my film essay and want to know whether I should say 'it was a success' or it 'didn't pay off well' basically. Just don't want to guess/assume and get marked down for it. Sources would be nice, but if none come to you, just an answer will be nice. Thanks!

I dont know about a 1980's remake but there was one made in 1998 with Christopher Reeve in the James Stewart role. Rear Window is my fave film ever and personally I wasnt thrilled they were remaking it but Christopher Reeve did a really good job. However, it wasnt really up to the original in my opinion, but then remakes rarely are, are they? just my opinion, probably not much help. Good luck with your essay tho! :)

What jellybean said. Also, you could try looking up the movie in the Internet Movie Database (www.imdb.com) or in Wikipedia.
