Sound like you need to get more shelves, bins, drawer baskets for keeping all little things separate, Set up a place to keep each thing that you own. If you don't have room for everything, you may need to pack some of it up and store it or get rid of somethings. What I do that really helps keep me in check, is I make my bed first thing when I get up - because it sets the mood of the room somehow and it makes me automatically pick up as I go. Also, try to make sure that before you go to bed each night, that everything is clean and put away. This helps more than anything!! Good luck!

It's tough to keep your room clean when you've got so much going on in your life. I like to do something that I call the 15-minute rule. Every day I spend just 15 minutes cleaning some area of my apartment. Some days I spend the 15 minutes on the kitchen, some days it's the bathroom, and other days it's the closets. Eventually it all gets caught up and 15 minutes a day will be all you need to maintain it.

You only have one room to worry about? Maybe it's a time management problem. Do you hang up your clothes or put them in the laundry when you come home and change? Do you have drawers to keep things in? If so, use them. Do you have a desk to put your school books? Do you have a table for crafts projects? You mainly need to pick up after yourself. Don't just throw things in a big pile. Hope this helped.

It is not the cleaning up, it is the dropping things where they are because you don't have time to put it up. Relax, take a deep breath and slow down. Make sure your clean clothes are hung in the closet, or placed back in the drawer when you are through with them. Put your shoes in one place only. Make your bed as soon as you get out of it. No, don't go to the bathroom first, MAKE THE BED! Take your dirty dishes to the kitchen now (when you are finished eating) not later.

Maybe you have too many clothes... or not enough room to store them. Try getting some closet dividers and a clothes hamper to keep in your bedroom.
